Milwaukee
Avenue Infrastructure Improvements, Chicago Department of
Transportation (CDOT)-with Epstein & Sons, Inc.
Regina
Webster & Associates has been retained by A. Epstein & Sons to
perform traffic engineering for the improvement of Milwaukee Avenue
from Montrose Avenue to the Jefferson Park CTA and Metra Terminal in
Chicago. RWA is developing traffic signal plans, specifications,
and estimates for each intersection in the project area – Milwaukee
Avenue at Ainslie Street/Higgins Road, Laramie Avenue, Sunnyside
Avenue, Lawrence Avenue, and Montrose Avenue – for full or partial
modernized signal design. The intersection traffic signal drawings
will be prepared in MicroStation V8 format and will include traffic
signal removal plans, installation plans, a schedule of quantities,
and standard details. The scope of the project also includes the
preparation of pavement marking plans, including cross-street
approaches. RWA is also conducting a field survey of all existing
traffic signs in the design area, developing a traffic sign
inventory, and assessing whether existing signs meet CDOT design and
installation standards, and preparing traffic sign plans,
specifications and estimates.
