Searle
Parkway and Skokie Boulevard Intersection Improvements
Regina
Webster & Associates is a subconsultant to McDonough Associates,
Inc., for an intersection improvement project for Searle Parkway and
Skokie Boulevard in Skokie, Illinois. RWA is preparing an
Intersection Design Study for the project location, which will
include an accident analysis and a traffic/railroad signal report.
Weekday 12-hour manual turning-movement counts are being collected
for the intersection of Searle Parkway and Skokie Boulevard, and
24-hour machine counts on each approach to the intersection. The
counts will be factored to provide ADT volumes. Accident data for
the last three years will be gathered for use in an accident
analysis to determine if the intersection is a high-accident
location. Using CATS data, RWA will develop 20-year volume
projections based on the collected intersection counts. These
volumes will be used to develop traffic signal timings for the
intersection design study and perform a traffic signal warrant
analysis. A traffic/railroad signal report will also be prepared to
document the proposed operation of the roadway and railroad signals.
