Webster & Associates is worked with A. Epstein & Sons to provide
transportation engineering services for the reconstruction of 76th
Street from Pulaski Road to Kostner Avenue for the Chicago
Department of Transportation (CDOT). Seventy-Sixth Street is a
four-lane roadway that provides access between Pulaski Road and the
east side of the Ford City Shopping Center. Barrier medians are
located sporadically along the roadway. The work included the
collection of traffic counts at three intersections, an analysis of
accidents and recommendations for geometry and pavement cross
section, a review of existing median locations and operations, and
an analysis of the impact of additional median installation on
business and residential access. The project scope also includes the
preparation of Traffic Signal Plans for 2 intersections, the review
of existing signal operations at 76th Street and Kostner Avenue and
76th Street and Pulaski Road, the modification of existing two phase
signal at 76th Street and Kostner Avenue and existing interconnected
signal at 76th Street and Pulaski Road as required, and preparation
of signal plans, specifications and quantities.
